Week 9 人文課小故事 - 有量才有福

有量才有福

春秋時代的秦穆公，有一匹跑得很快的駿馬，養在馬廄裡。秦穆公很喜歡這匹馬，經常騎著牠出遊、打獵。
有一天，一群飢餓的農民半夜裡摸進馬廄，偷走了這匹駿馬，牽到岐山山腳下，把馬殺了，生火煮肉吃。
管馬廄的人發現後，向秦穆公報告。秦穆公帶了一大群侍衛和一罈美酒趕到岐山下，不但沒有責罰他們，還說：「吃馬肉要喝酒幫助消化，否則對身體健康有害。」就留下一罈美酒給他們，而後率衛士們離去了。
台灣有一句俗諺說：「有量才有福」，一個寬宏大量、肯原諒別人過錯的人，日後總會獲得更大的報償。
後來秦穆公跟晉國打仗，在岐山附近被敵軍包圍，正在危急之際，忽然有一群人冒死衝來，把晉軍衝散，救出了秦穆公。秦穆公一看，這些奮不顧身、冒死相救的人，正是當年他所原諒的那群偷馬的饑民。
